Storytelling with Xanthe Gresham-Knight

Way before I became a storyteller, I remember an empathetic GP telling me about the power of mythology. ‘There’s a story for every illness…’ he said. 

Since beginning to work with plants I believe this to be true.  Healers cure through relationships – with plants, with patients and by activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Plant stories work on a symbolic level and can transport us to healing worlds like the Land of the Ancestors, Avalon or Hesperides.

Knowing myths and folktales about favourite plants can be one element of the healing toolkit. 

In this performance I will tell stories and sing songs for some of my favourite plants from Nettle to Hibiscus – stories you’re welcome to put in your herb basket.
